Chivu’s cure is working: Dimarco shines again for Inter Milan

Under Chivu, Inter Milan’s left side is alive again. Dimarco regains his brilliance while Dumfries remains unstoppable on the right

Chivu’s touch seems to be working for everyone. While Dumfries continues to be Inter Milan’s secret weapon down the right, Cristian Chivu’s management has also reignited the fire in left-back Federico Dimarco.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport via Fcinter1908 notes, “On one side, Dumfries is set to challenge Spinazzola, while on the other, Dimarco’s duel with his Italy teammates Politano and Di Lorenzo could be decisive. 

Much of the Scudetto showdown may be decided on the wings — expect sparks on both flanks.”

After sitting out in the Champions League in favor of Carlos Augusto — part of Chivu’s planned rotation — Dimarco returns to his natural spot. Behind Dumfries, Luis Henrique still lacks consistency, but on the opposite flank, Federico brings something special: offensive power and creativity.

Dimarco’s numbers prove his worth and his left foot still stuns

Stats back up Dimarco’s resurgence. In Serie A, he has created more “big chances” than any other player — 22, ahead of the dazzling Nico Paz, who stopped at 21. 

Inter Milan might have long abandoned the dream of pairing Dimarco with left-footed Argentine talent Nico Paz, now at Como, but Chivu is focused on reviving that same spark from Naples.

It’s no coincidence: last season, Dimarco scored a stunning “Maradona-style” free kick at the stadium named after the legend himself. Inter Milan hopes for another masterpiece from their reborn left-back this weekend.
