Inter Milan have won three of their six previous European encounters with Borussia Dortmund. 

The German side have claimed two victories, while one match ended in a draw, completing the overall record.

The most recent meeting dates back to November 2019, when Borussia Dortmund defeated Inter Milan 3–2. 

That match remains particularly memorable: Inter Milan led 2–0 at half-time, yet Dortmund managed to turn the game around. 

It was the only occasion in Champions League history in which Dortmund trailed by at least two goals at the break and still won, and likewise the only time Inter Milan lost a match in the competition after leading by two or more goals at half-time.

Borussia Dortmund have hosted Inter Milan three times in European competitions, with a perfectly balanced record of one win, one draw and one defeat. 

Those matches have produced an average of 4.3 goals per game, with six goals scored by Dortmund and seven by Inter Milan.
