Who is Francesco Pio Esposito?

Francesco Pio Esposito is an Italian footballer born on June 28, 2005, in Castellammare di Stabia.

He plays as a forward for Inter Milan and represents Italy’s Under-21 national team. Known for his powerful physique, smart movement, and clinical finishing, Esposito is considered one of Italy’s most exciting attacking prospects.

Where did he grow up?

Esposito grew up in Castellammare di Stabia with his brothers Salvatore and Sebastiano, both professional footballers.

Football was a shared passion in the Esposito family, and Francesco Pio began playing at a very young age. At just six years old, he joined the Brescia youth academy, where he started developing his talent.
Three years later, in 2014, he and his brothers moved to Inter Milan’s academy, a step that would define his career.

Where has he played?

After joining Inter Milan, Esposito climbed through every youth level at the club. His development accelerated under Cristian Chivu, who coached him in several youth categories.
Despite challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic—when youth competitions were suspended—Esposito’s progress never slowed.

In the 2021/22 season, he became the starting striker for Inter Milan U17, scoring 21 goals in 24 matches, and even made his Youth League debut with the Primavera side.
The following year, he was promoted full-time to the Inter Milan Primavera, once again under Chivu’s guidance, and wore the captain’s armband.

He scored 16 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions, proving his leadership and consistency.

The professional breakthrough

In the summer of 2023, Esposito made his professional debut after joining Spezia Calcio on loan in Serie B.

In his first season, he recorded 3 goals in 38 matches. The following campaign, his form exploded — 19 goals in 39 appearances, including two in the promotion playoffs.
His strong performances caught Inter Milan’s attention, leading to his return to the club.

As of the 2025/26 season, Esposito has 8 Serie A appearances and 1 goal with Inter Milan’s senior team, along with 3 Champions League appearances and 1 goal — marking the beginning of what promises to be a brilliant top-flight career.
