Inter Milan is moving on multiple transfer fronts as departures, expiring contracts, and ambitious targets reshape the club’s plans for next season

Inter Milan is working on several fronts ahead of the next transfer window. Both defense and midfield could undergo significant changes, with departures and expiring contracts pushing the club toward a partial rebuild.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via Fcinter1908, one of the most intriguing ideas involved a potential swap deal between Inter Milan and AS Roma featuring Koné and Frattesi.

Technically, the move could make sense, but major obstacles remain.

The situation has recently cooled down, largely because everything depends on AS Roma’s future and whether the club secures Champions League qualification. It is just one example of the complicated dynamics within the Italian transfer market.

Deals between Serie A giants have always been rare. Beyond the financial side, there are environmental pressures and competitive fears: why strengthen a direct rival when alternatives abroad exist? Even if those foreign deals can be just as expensive.

Muharemovic, Mario Gila, and the growing battle among Italy’s giants

One of the hottest domestic names is Muharemovic. The Sassuolo defender is attracting strong interest from both Inter Milan and Juventus.

The Bosnian center-back has entered the radar of sporting director Piero Ausilio, with important contacts already established with the player’s entourage.

Inter Milan is determined to push forward, but Juventus holds a major advantage: a clause agreed with Sassuolo two years ago gives the Turin club 50% leverage on a future resale deal.

In practical terms, Juventus could potentially re-sign the player for half the price compared to competitors. The battle, however, is only beginning.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan and Napoli are also trying to disrupt AC Milan’s pursuit of Mario Gila. The highly rated Spanish defender has reportedly decided not to renew his contract with Lazio, which expires in 2027.

Contacts between Gila and Milan are already advanced, but Lazio president Claudio Lotito’s demands continue to complicate negotiations.

Still, the scenario points toward a fascinating three-way race involving Inter Milan, Napoli, and AC Milan for one of the most sought-after defenders on the market.

Across Italy, transfer wires are already crackling like summer thunderstorms and Inter Milan intends to stand right at the center of it all.
