Davide Frattesi stays put as Inter Milan market saga continues

Another uncertain transfer window ends with Frattesi still in Inter Milan colours
Once again, Davide Frattesi finds himself at the centre of a swirling transfer storm. And once again, just like last summer, the outcome is the same: he stays at Inter Milan, determined to try and write a different chapter in Nerazzurro colours.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via Fcinter1908, rumours, contacts and speculative links to dozens of clubs never truly altered the final picture.
Frattesi would have left Inter Milan last summer had Simone Inzaghi remained on the bench. His desire was simple and legitimate: more playing time.
A request driven not only by limited minutes, but also by his proven ability to change games off the bench.
Cristian Chivu, however, took a different approach. During his first summer as Inter Milan head coach, he invested time in Frattesi, explaining a tactical plan built around him. On paper, everything seemed set for a fresh start. But reality soon intervened.
Why Frattesi and Inter Milan chose continuity over change
The reasons behind Frattesi’s continued stay in Milan can be summed up in four key points: two financial, one geographical and one technical.

First and foremost, Inter Milan never considered selling the midfielder for less than around €30 million (£25.8m).
Closely linked to this was the second issue: the club only received offers deemed inadequate, not just in valuation but especially in structure. Inter Milan made their stance clear: Frattesi would leave only on a permanent transfer. No loans, no loan-to-buy deals, not even conditional obligations.
The third factor was geographical and competitive. The club that came closest in recent weeks was Nottingham Forest, currently 17th in the Premier League. For Frattesi, this represented a double concern: both sporting ambition and the desire to remain on elite stages weighed heavily in his thinking.
The final barrier was raised by Inter Milan themselves. Without a ready-made and reliable replacement, weakening the squad was never an option. And so, continuity prevailed.
For now, Frattesi remains part of Inter Milan’s project, suspended between ambition and patience, waiting for the moment when opportunity finally aligns with promise.
