Inter Milan one step from title: Scudetto match point set

Inter Milan close in on glory after rivals slip, with the title now within touching distance

The finish line is no longer a distant silhouette. It’s right there, glowing.

After the win against Cagliari, it already felt close. Now, following Napoli’s home defeat to Lazio at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, Inter Milan’s grip on the title has tightened even further.

The gap has stretched to 12 points with just five rounds remaining.

First match point against Torino

Cristian Chivu’s side will have their first real chance to clinch the title next weekend against Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

The equation is simple, yet delicately balanced.

Inter Milan will be crowned champions if they win and Napoli fail to win their match against Cremonese.

Even a draw could be enough, provided Napoli lose.

If not now, then very soon

If both Inter Milan and Napoli win, the gap would remain unchanged, postponing the celebration. 

In that case, attention would shift to the following round at San Siro against Parma.

At that stage, Inter Milan would need just one more point from the remaining matches to secure the title.

What about AC Milan?

AC Milan are still mathematically in contention, but only just.

Their chances hinge on winning crucial matches, including clashes with Hellas Verona and Juventus. Any slip could officially end their hopes.

Inter Milan need just four more points to become unreachable. The champagne is on ice, the stadium is ready, and the countdown has begun.
