Aleksandar Stanković is shining in Belgium, and Inter Milan are closely monitoring his progress with a buy-back option already in place

Young midfielder Aleksandar Stanković continues to grow in Belgium. And Inter Milan is watching him very closely, aware of having the opportunity to bring back home a gem who is shining at his full potential — and with a buy-back price already agreed.

According to today’s TuttoSport via Fcinter1908, “For an absolutely high value: €23 million (≈£19.8 million) at the end of this season, €25 million (≈£21.5 million) at the end of the ’26–27 season.

A figure that Inter Milan, however, does not rule out investing, because Stanković Jr is keeping his promises, becoming one of the most interesting young ‘low’ central midfielders in the European landscape.

So much so that in October he made his first start for Serbia, while yesterday he came off the bench in the first XI of new coach Paunović in the World Cup qualifier against England at Wembley.”

A double future: growing as Çalhanoğlu’s heir or being sold for profit

The Nerazzurri, therefore, are leaning toward redemption. According to the newspaper, there are two possible scenarios: “And here we return to the ‘in any case, it will be a success.’

Because if Inter Milan should decide to bring Stanković back to the parent club, it would be primarily for two reasons. The first is to rely on him — if not immediately as a starter, certainly as an alternative and heir to Çalhanoğlu, albeit with different characteristics.

The second is purely economic, to generate cash. Because Aleksandar is attracting attention from many clubs, especially in the Premier — Tottenham and Newcastle above all — and his value by the end of this season could be much higher than the €23 million (≈£19.8 million) expected for the buy-back.

Just think about the path of the new Milan signing Jashari. Bought from Brugge in summer 2024 precisely from Lucerne for €6 million (≈£5.2 million) and sold to Milan twelve months later for almost €38 million (≈£32.7 million), bonuses included.”

There would also be a third reason, according to the Turin-based newspaper. It reads: “Unless the Nerazzurri decide to leave him permanently at Brugge to secure a preferential channel for defender Joël Ordóñez, among their 2026 targets.”

It’s a track not to be underestimated. But it should be emphasized that, to date, there are no negligible technical considerations about Stanković Jr.
