Marc Guehi

The Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their defense and have set their sights on England international Marc Guehi

One of Inter Milan’s key transfer targets for next season is a top-level, established central defender who can both strengthen and rejuvenate their defensive line. In addition to the many names circulating over the past few weeks, a new candidate has emerged from England.

According to Team Talk via Fcinter1908.it, Inter Milan’s management have set their sights on Marc Guehi, captain of Crystal Palace and fresh winner of the FA Cup.

Born in 2000 and a product of Chelsea’s youth academy, Guehi has become a regular presence in the England national team. After four standout seasons with the Eagles, he now appears ready to take the next step in his career.

Manchester United are reportedly monitoring the situation closely, with Guehi’s current contract set to expire on June 30, 2026.

However, Inter are said to have shown the most concrete interest so far, even though no official offers have been made at this stage.

Last year, Crystal Palace turned down bids of £65 million (over €77 million) for the center-back. But with his contract expiring in two years and the risk of losing him on a free transfer next summer, the South London club may now be more open to negotiations.

Why Guehi fits Inter Milan’s system

Guehi is particularly suited to a back-three system like Inter Milan’s.

His ability to play as the  allows him to bring the ball out confidently under pressure and connect with midfielders or wing-backs.

His calmness in possession, coupled with excellent timing in tackles, makes him ideal for Simone Inzaghi’s style of high-press-resistant build-up play.

With Francesco Acerbi aging and uncertainty around Stefan de Vrij’s role, signing a younger, international-caliber centre-back like Guehi would not only secure Inter Milan’s future defensively but also send a strong signal of intent in Europe.
