Turkey calls again: Calhanoglu between Fenerbahce and Inter Milan

After a brief flirtation with Galatasaray, Hakan Calhanoglu is now tempted by José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce, who may hand him the captain's armband

Turkey is once again trying to lure Hakan Calhanoglu back home. The Inter Milan playmaker, who recently admitted his affection for Galatasaray — calling it his childhood club — could now be heading to Fenerbahce, where José Mourinho is reportedly ready to offer him the captain’s armband.

The figures that could convince Inter Milan

Fenerbahce are said to be preparing a bid worth €20 million (approx. £16.9 million), which is more than what Galatasaray had placed on the table. 

Should the offer rise to €25 million (approx. £21.1 million), Inter Milan could be tempted to accept — a plausible scenario.

Calhanoglu is 31, has been at Inter Milan since 2021, and is coming off a turbulent summer. 

After missing the Club World Cup due to injury, he became embroiled in a public spat with Lautaro Martinez — though the issue was later resolved through official social media statements.

Fenerbahce are determined and ready. And in the event of a departure, Inter Milan would immediately move to find a replacement in midfield.
