Historic goal for Lautaro Martinez: Inter Milan captain scores again against Cagliari in Serie A
A historic goal, one that paved the way for Inter Milan at the Unipol Domus: Lautaro Martinez scored his 12th Serie A goal against Cagliari in 12 league matches.
The Rossoblu are the captain’s favorite victims, as he has now reached 117 Serie A goals, becoming the fifth all-time scorer in Inter Milan’s Serie A history, behind Giuseppe Meazza (197), Benito Lorenzi (138), Istvan Nyers (133), and Alessandro Altobelli (128).
At the end of the match against Cagliari, Lautaro analyzed Inter Milan’s performance as follows:
“Coming here is always tough, the pitch is small and the fans make themselves felt. For us it was important to step onto the pitch with the right attitude, we talked a lot and I believe we deserved to win.
After the setbacks we had, we must always give more and we are doing that. We always try to work to improve, we follow what the coach tells us because we want the best for Inter Milan and for the team. I’m happy and proud of today. Winning is important, for years we’ve always reached the latter stages in all competitions, and we must keep going like this.
Lautaro: “We have a strong group fighting for Inter Milan”

We have a strong and united group that always fights for Inter Milan. We took three important points and need to continue this way. Now there’s a match in midweek, we must prepare well for the Champions League.
We’ve known Pio since he was in the Primavera, he trains at the highest level and has the right mindset, but we must let him stay calm. He’s young, he must remain focused and we help him because he’s important for the team and must grow, but he has great qualities and is proving his value.”
