Galatasaray interest cools, Premier League watchful, and Inter Milan refuse flexible formulas

During a video published on his YouTube channel, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided an update on the future of Davide Frattesi, a midfielder currently at Inter Milan and the subject of growing market speculation.

Deal advanced in December, but January negotiations hit a wall

According to Romano, Galatasaray recently sent their vice-president to Italy, confirming the seriousness of their interest:

“From Galatasaray’s side, the Frattesi deal was very well advanced at the end of December. Then it stopped and stalled in January, and it still remains blocked.”

The main issue lies in the structure of the deal. The Turkish club pushed for a more complex obligation to buy, tied to appearances, rather than a straightforward clause.

“Galatasaray wanted a more complicated obligation compared to the four appearances of 45 minutes that would have triggered it,” Romano explained.

Inter Milan, however, have taken a firm stance:

“Inter Milan wanted a practically guaranteed obligation worth €35 million (£30.2m). Galatasaray wanted something more conditional. That gap is still there.”

Premier League and Serie A interest in Frattesi

Despite the impasse, interest in Frattesi remains strong.

“The interest is still there, and the Premier League is always watching. It’s a situation to keep an eye on,” Romano added.

The midfielder also continues to appeal to Luciano Spalletti, while rumours linking him to Juventus persist. However, Romano downplayed any immediate developments from Turin:

“From Juventus, the message is always the same: it’s not an advanced discussion, because for Inter Milan a loan with an option to buy is not a workable solution.”

Inter Milan hold the line

For now, Inter Milan remain unmoved. Frattesi’s future is far from decided, but the club’s position is clear: no discounts, no soft formulas.

With January dynamics still fluid and summer plans already forming, Frattesi’s name will remain one to watch as Inter Milan balance squad depth, ambition, and market opportunity.
