Jonathan David

Canadian striker could join Inter Milan on a five-year deal worth £5.1m/year

Inter Milan are making serious progress in their pursuit of Canadian striker Jonathan David, according to British outlet TeamTalk via Fcinter1908.it

The Lille forward is set to leave the French club at the end of the season on a free transfer, and Inter are among the frontrunners to land his signature.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly confident in their ability to complete the deal ahead of next season and are working intensively to secure David early.

In recent days, TeamTalk claims Inter Milan have made significant headway in negotiations, particularly regarding agent fees — one of the key hurdles in the discussions.

While no final agreement has been reached yet, the gap is narrowing, and the Serie A champions remain optimistic.

Inter Milan have reportedly offered David a five-year contract worth approximately €4,5 million (£3.85 million) net per season, which could rise to around €6 million (£5.1 million) per year with bonuses.

The club has also assured the striker he would have a key role in Simone Inzaghi’s plans, promising significant playing time and a central role in the squad.

Napoli had also entered the race for the 24-year-old forward, but their offer — both in terms of wages and agent commissions — reportedly lags behind that of Inter.

David, who scored 19 goals in Ligue 1 last season, is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most promising forwards.

Known for his relentless energy and versatility, he has been described by Canada national team coach Jesse Marsch as having a “unique mentality” and being a player who “never stops moving.”

These qualities make him an ideal fit for Inter Milan’s dynamic attacking style under Inzaghi.

With his technical ability, clinical finishing, and strong work rate, David could become a major asset in Serie A as he enters the prime of his career.
