Next summer will surely be a very hot one for Inter Milan, who will need to replace several players reaching the end of their cycle.
However, it is not certain that the Nerazzurri will wait until then. At least in defense, as Niccolò Ceccarini reported on TMW via Fcinter1908, the club from Viale della Liberazione could try to make a move as early as January.

“If the right opportunity arises in January, an attempt could be made for a defender, considering that both Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi have contracts expiring,” Ceccarini explained.
Among the possible names that could attract Inter Milan’s attention are Alessandro Buongiorno from Torino, Giorgio Scalvini from Atalanta, and even Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth, who has been linked with Serie A clubs.
Why these players could be useful for Inter Milan
Alessandro Buongiorno (Torino)
Buongiorno is a left-footed centre-back, strong in the air and reliable in man-to-man marking.
He could be the ideal backup — and in the future, partner — for Alessandro Bastoni on the left side of the back three, an area where Inter Milan lack natural alternatives. His Serie A experience and Italian profile also make him a smart investment for the long term.
Giorgio Scalvini (Atalanta)
Scalvini stands out for his versatility: he can play both as a central defender and as a holding midfielder.
Elegant on the ball and tactically intelligent, he fits perfectly into Cristian Chivu’s build-up system. At just 20 years old, he represents both immediate quality and a long-term solution as Inter Milan gradually refresh an aging defensive unit.
Lloyd Kelly (Bournemouth)
Kelly offers international experience, having been a regular in the Premier League. A left-footed defender who can operate as a centre-back or left-back, he provides tactical flexibility that would be valuable in Chivu’s rotations.
With his contract expiring soon, he could also be a cost-effective signing compared to high-priced Serie A talents.
