Inter Milan eye Bologna FC star Lucumi as defensive target
Inter Milan have added Bologna FC defender to their shortlist as the Nerazzurri continue searching for defensive reinforcements
Inter Milan's search for defensive reinforcements is expanding beyond Trevoh Chalobah, with Bologna FC centre back Jhon Lucumi emerging as another serious option for Cristian Chivu's squad ahead of the new season.
Lucumi Emerges as Another Defensive Option
According to Italian newspaper Il Resto del Carlino, Inter Milan have already made initial contacts regarding the Colombian international, although the club is expected to wait until July 15 before making its next move.
Lucumí is reportedly determined to continue playing European football, making both Inter Milan and Juventus attractive destinations.

Premier League clubs could still enter the race, as has often happened in recent transfer windows, but the defender has already turned down an approach from Nottingham Forest despite a lucrative offer worth around €3 million ($3.4 million) per season plus bonuses on a five-year contract.
Inter Milan's strategy is to wait until Lucumí's release clause expires before attempting to negotiate a lower transfer fee directly with Bologna FC.
Inter Milan could use midfielders in negotiations
The Nerazzurri may also have an additional advantage in discussions with Bologna FC.
The Rossoblù are reportedly interested in two Inter Milan midfielders: 21-year-old Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, who has returned to Milan after his loan spell at Pisa, and 23-year-old midfielder Yanis Massolin.
Those mutual interests could open the door to a more flexible negotiation as Inter Milan continue evaluating their defensive options ahead of the new campaign.
While Chalobah remains firmly on the club's shortlist, Lucumí has now become another name to watch as Inter Milan look to strengthen the heart of their defence before the transfer window reaches its decisive stages.
