Calhanoglu in Galatasaray’s sights: Inter Milan star draws summer interest

A central figure in Simone Inzaghi’s tactical setup, Hakan Calhanoglu has become one of Inter Milan’s most valuable players in recent seasons. 

His ability to dictate tempo, break lines with his vision, and contribute defensively has made him the ideal “regista” for the Nerazzurri. 

Now, his consistent performances have attracted attention from abroad—more specifically, from his homeland.

Galatasaray, one of Turkey’s most prestigious clubs, is reportedly interested in bringing Calhanoglu back to the Süper Lig. 

The Istanbul-based side is looking to strengthen its midfield ahead of the new season and sees the 30-year-old as a marquee signing who could elevate both their domestic and European ambitions.

As of now, there have been no direct negotiations between Inter Milan and Galatasaray. 

However, Turkish media sources and Fcinter1908 report that the Turkish club has made its interest known and is planning the first steps toward a potential deal. Calhanoglu’s agent is expected to travel to Istanbul in the coming days to explore the opportunity and gauge the seriousness of Galatasaray’s approach.

No official bid yet, but agent visit signals possible talks

According to Sky Sport, “For Calhanoglu, Galatasaray’s interest is in the air, but Inter Milan hasn’t received any formal offer yet. 

It remains to be seen what kind of proposal will arrive and how Inter Milan will react—especially since the club already turned down Bayern’s bid last summer.”

Inter Milan consider Calhanoglu a fundamental part of their squad. The club rejected interest from Bayern Munich in the previous transfer window and recently renewed his contract until 2027, a clear indication of how highly he is valued by the management.

For Galatasaray, the operation would not only be a significant financial effort, but also a powerful statement—bringing home a national team leader and a Champions League-caliber midfielder. 

However, Inter Milan’s demands are expected to be high, and the Nerazzurri may be unwilling to part ways with their midfield engine unless an irresistible offer arrives.
