UEFA gives green light despite surface issues in Norway

In the past few hours, doubts had emerged over a possible postponement of Bodo Glimt versus Inter Milan due to less than ideal pitch conditions. 

The playing surface, particularly along the flanks, shows visible dips caused by machinery used to clear snow from the field.

However, any speculation about a delay has now been firmly dismissed.

Speaking on Sky Sport via Fcinter1908, journalist Matteo Barzaghi relayed the official position from UEFA. “I can give you an update directly from UEFA,” he explained. 

Referee inspection clears doubts as UEFA confirm match will go ahead

“The referee inspected the pitch this morning and gave his approval. The match will be played. There is no risk of the game being called into question, that is what UEFA has told us.”

Despite visible imperfections on the surface at the Aspmyra Stadion, the first leg of the Champions League playoff between Bodo Glimt and Inter Milan will go ahead as scheduled.

For Inter Milan, attention now shifts fully from the ground beneath their boots to the challenge that awaits under the Norwegian lights.
