Chivu: “We gave our all, now we assess injuries and focus on the return leg”
Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu spoke to Prime Video via Fcinter1908 after the 3-1 loss to Bodo/Glimt, offering a candid evaluation of the match and the team’s current situation.
“The team tried hard and showed a good attitude for 90 minutes,” Chivu began. “We were caught out by lost balls and their transitions and paid the price.
Despite the difficulties, the pitch, and the cold – which is no excuse – I cannot reproach my players for their attitude.”

The coach highlighted the defensive challenges: “We were surprised by a few lost balls. Some transitions exposed us because of their speed and ability to play off the ball. They also adjust better and are more used to short passes.
It’s not an excuse; we had that chance at 1-1 where we could have been luckier, then we conceded two goals in the area where they are strongest.”
Injuries and next steps
Chivu confirmed the severity of Lautaro Martinez’s problem: “We lost Lautaro, he is injured, and it’s quite serious.
Other players have some issues as well, and we will evaluate them tomorrow. We have to take stock because in three days we play Lecce, then we will focus on the return leg.”
Despite the setback, Chivu remains optimistic about the Champions League tie: “Everything is still open. It’s a team that can hurt you in transition, but we will fight until the end to advance to the next round.”
