The words of Inter Milan’s vice-captain to DAZN after Simone Inzaghi’s team’s loss in Bologna
It was up to Nicolò Barella, Inter Milan’s vice-captain, to explain what happened today in Bologna. Here’s what he said to DAZN (a sport streaming and entertainment platform) via Fcinter1908.it:
"The goal? It can happen, but this season we've left a few too many inches here and there. You can’t concede a goal like that — 7 vs. 3 in our own box. We had an easy ball to clear and needed to do better.
At the same time, I’ll say that when you're fighting on three fronts, it’s not easy to always find the energy — even mentally — to play matches like this, in a stadium like this, against such a strong team.
We have to lick our wounds and start again tomorrow, keeping in mind that we still have every chance to win on all fronts.

I’ve never made excuses since I started playing football — there’s no such thing as physical fatigue in the last two minutes. We had to do better, and it’s only our fault.
We struggled a bit, but the match was balanced, and a draw would’ve been the fairest result. We need to work better on situations like this — football doesn’t forgive.
We want to keep winning and continue doing what we’ve done over the past few years.
The team is tired. There are many competitions, many games. And at the end of the season, there will be yet another one.
But we don’t want to make excuses, because we deserve to be here. The coach deserves it. Now we have to give everything, enjoy these goals — even if it’s hard — and find the energy that sometimes just isn’t there."
