The Nerazzurri face a busy summer as key contracts near expiration and the club eyes potential replacements in goal

Cristian Chivu’s Inter Milan will have plenty of work to do this summer. With several players nearing the end of their contracts, the club must identify the right replacements to keep the squad competitive at the highest level.

One department that will definitely see changes is the goalkeeper position.

According to Corriere della Sera via Fcinter1908, the Swiss keeper’s contract is expiring, and while Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio currently deny having made a final decision on either renewal or replacement, several dossiers are already on the table.

Vicario emerges as the most reliable option for Inter Milan’s goalkeeping future

The profile that intrigues the club the most is Guglielmo Vicario, who came close to joining Inter Milan in the summer of 2023.

Italian and experienced in Serie A, Vicario has also proven himself on big stages after his stint at Tottenham.

Valued between €20–25 million (£17–21 million), he appears to offer more guarantees compared to Caprile from Cagliari or Atubolu from Freiburg.

Inter Milan’s management faces a delicate balancing act: securing the present while preparing for the future, ensuring the goalkeeper spot remains a pillar of stability for Chivu’s ambitious Nerazzurri.
