Denzel Dumfries’ ankle issue raises concern at Inter Milan as the derby approaches.

“The right-sided defender left his national team’s camp just hours before the match against Poland due to discomfort in his left ankle, the consequence of a knock suffered during the game against Lazio in the last league round.

For this reason, the Netherlands’ head coach, in agreement with the medical staff, decided to send him home.

Based on early indications, his presence in next Sunday’s derby against Milan does not appear to be at risk, but caution remains essential.

Today, the player is expected in Appiano. The rest of the group, however, will not be there. Cristian Chivu has granted three days off.

Training resumes on Tuesday, with Darmian also expected to rejoin the Inter Milan group,” the article reads.
