Inter Milan look down on everyone from the top of the European ranking ahead of the 2029 Club World Cup.
The Nerazzurri are first with 63 points and lead the race for the tournament, whose inaugural edition this year was won by Chelsea. Behind Chivu’s team are Arsenal (59) and PSG, already mathematically qualified (with 58 points) thanks to winning the 2025 Champions League. B
arcelona, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund complete the upper tier of the table, while Liverpool and Real Madrid remain in contention with 42 points each. Atlético Madrid follow with 39, trailed by Aston Villa on 34.

For Italian teams, beyond Inter Milan dominating the ranking, Atalanta are the surprise: currently 13th with 31 points and still fighting for a place among the top eight. The situation for Juventus, Milan, and Napoli is more complicated, all far from the qualifying positions.
Inter Milan on top in Europe
Here are the positions that matter. The Nerazzurri hold a significant advantage over the other Italian teams:
- Inter Milan – 63
- Arsenal – 59
- PSG – 58 (QUALIFIED)
- Barcelona – 51
- Bayern Munich – 46
- Dortmund – 44
- Liverpool – 42
- Real Madrid – 42
- Atlético Madrid – 39
- Aston Villa – 34
13. Atalanta – 31
19. Juventus – 24
22. AC Milan – 18
32. Napoli – 10
Pending official announcements, the format should include 12 European teams: the winners of the four previous Champions League editions plus the top eight in the ranking.
In the last Club World Cup, the limit of two teams per nation remained in effect, a rule that could also matter for 2029.
The scoring system has changed: now teams receive 3 points for a win and 3 points for participating, plus bonuses for advancing through rounds.
