Record-breaking season rewarded with trust and continuity

Federico Dimarco has been one of the brightest sparks in Inter Milan’s season, lighting up the left flank with consistency, creativity, and numbers that almost feel fictional: 6 goals and 17 assists in the league.

A tally so rich it surpasses the previous record set by Alejandro Gómez during his time at Atalanta.

After a dip at the end of last season, Dimarco has returned sharper, louder, and more decisive. His performances have not only fueled Inter Milan’s campaign but also reignited discussions about his future at the club.

A bond strengthened by performance and trust

According to Il Messaggero via Fcinter1908, Inter Milan have already taken steps to secure that future.

While Dimarco’s contract officially runs until June 30, 2027, the club holds a unilateral option to extend it by an additional year, pushing the deadline to 2028.

Currently earning around €4 million (£3.44 million) net per season, the Italian wing-back has also triggered all available performance bonuses thanks to his outstanding contributions.

Beyond the numbers, there’s chemistry. His connection with coach Cristian Chivu has been a key factor in his resurgence.

Under Chivu, Dimarco has found trust and continuity, a contrast to previous seasons under Simone Inzaghi, where he was often substituted early.

After a dip at the end of last season, Dimarco has returned sharper, louder, and more decisive.

Moments of joy have followed. Even Marcus Thuram celebrated alongside him with a playful “shoeshine” gesture, echoing a nostalgic tribute once seen between Francesco Moriero and Ronaldo in the late 1990s.

Inter Milan want to keep Dimarco. Dimarco wants to stay. Sometimes, football stories don’t need twists, just confirmation.
