The Inter Milan coach’s choices for tonight’s match

Inter Milan continues to juggle one commitment after another. They’re back on the pitch tonight at 21:00 CEST for the fifth derby of the season against AC Milan. 

At stake is a spot in the Coppa Italia final, starting from the 1–1 draw in the first leg of the semifinal. It’s a delicate match on its own, made even more crucial by Inter Milan’s current situation—they’re coming off a loss to Bologna and are about to face Roma in Serie A and Barcelona in the Champions League in just a few days.

How can energy be managed in such a tight schedule? Simone Inzaghi has been asking himself this question repeatedly in recent hours. 

Yesterday, he tested a lineup not too different from the one that played in Bologna, with Martinez and Dimarco being the only changes, replacing Sommer and Carlos Augusto. 

The night gave him more time to reflect and settle the final doubts. According to Fcinter1908.it, four changes from the previously expected lineup are now likely. Bisseck and Asllani may be given another chance from the start, while in defense De Vrij is expected to give Acerbi a rest. 

There’s a change in attack too: Taremi has overtaken Correa in the pecking order and is set to partner Lautaro Martinez.
