Marcus Thuram: “This defeat won’t shake our belief”

After a bitter derby loss to Milan, Inter Milan forward Marcus Thuram urges the team to keep confidence high

A bitter evening for Inter Milan in the derby against Milan: the Nerazzurri still played a good match, creating many chances that didn’t lead to a goal. 

Inter Milan must restart with strong confidence, as Marcus Thuram emphasized after the game:

“We created many goal chances, but tonight we came up against an incredible goalkeeper. 

This defeat shouldn’t make us lose our certainties; we must continue like this and things will turn. Maybe I should have directed the header to the opposite side on the chance Maignan saved…

Direct clashes? I think that with the coach we’ll find the solutions, because he’s very good and gives us advice to improve."

Thuram: “We’re on the right path despite the result”

"It’s only November, there are still many matches ahead. Because of the way we play, keeping so much possession, we open up and losing the ball hurts us: AC Milan on the counterattack is perhaps the strongest in Europe. 

We need to improve, but we played a serious match. Something is missing, but I think we’re on the right path.

The most important thing is to have confidence in ourselves and in the coach: one defeat doesn’t change everything, Inter Milan is on the right track even if there are always things to improve.
