Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta speaks to Sky about the Champions League final vs PSG, Inzaghi’s future, and the team’s journey since Istanbul
Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta spoke to Sky during Media Day at Appiano Gentile about the Champions League final against PSG and coach Simone Inzaghi’s future:

On the Champions League final
“These are positive feelings, paired with great pride in representing Italian football for the second time in three years.
We have a strong group, a strong club, and a coach and players who deserve this spotlight. We want to go into the match knowing we’re not just participants but main protagonists.
The experience in Istanbul helped us; these past two years have enriched us, and I’m optimistic that we’ll play a great match.”
On a personal goal
“My fourth Champions League final? Hopefully it goes differently this time.
I’m not superstitious, but if it keeps happening, I might start thinking about it... This would be my second final with Inter Milan, and winning this prestigious trophy, especially as President, would be a tremendous joy.”
On missing out on the Serie A title to Napoli
“While giving full credit to Napoli in every aspect, we played 19 more matches than them — essentially an entire league round.
That certainly impacted our team mentally and physically. I don’t want to lay blame or make excuses. I must thank the entire team and coach.
Regardless of the outcome, they gave us unforgettable nights, like the comeback against Barcelona.”
On Simone Inzaghi’s future
“Inzaghi said it would be crazy to talk about the future now — and that’s a reasonable point. A coach wants to hear from the club about what’s next. We’re ready to talk next week.
Right now, we’re all focused on a historic event that matters to the club, players, Simone, management, and ownership. Then we’ll sit down.
I’m optimistic: the relationship with Inzaghi is excellent. For me, this cycle isn’t over. There’s great synergy, and I hope we can continue together.”
