Sucic’s rise offers stability, but Chivu is already weighing January moves — and a stunning Juventus swap could be on the horizon

The transfer market never sleeps. And sometimes, just a few months into the season are enough to understand where adjustments are needed.

In Inter Milan’s case, the spotlight is firmly on the midfield — a department that has delivered mixed signals in this early stretch of the campaign.

On the bright side, Luka Sucic has emerged as a genuine revelation. The young Croatian has quickly become one of Cristian Chivu’s most reliable options, showing maturity, energy, and tactical intelligence.

Even with Henrikh Mkhitaryan sidelined through injury, Sucic has managed to maintain balance in the team, earning the trust of both the technical staff and management.

However, not everyone in the midfield has been able to make the same impact. Davide Frattesi and Diouf have struggled to find consistent playing time, becoming key names to monitor ahead of the January transfer window.

The club still believes in their potential, but with so much competition and limited space, both could become part of possible market maneuvers.

Then there’s Piotr Zielinski, whose high salary weighs heavily on Inter Milan’s wage bill. While the Polish international remains a player of quality and experience, the club may seek a solution that would allow them to reduce costs and open room for new arrivals.

According to journalist Paolo Bargiggia, an unexpected opportunity could soon appear on the horizon — one that might even involve Inter Milan’s historic rivals, Juventus. “A scenario to follow in January is a potential swap deal — initially on loan — that could see Manuel Locatelli join Inter Milan, with Frattesi moving to Juventus,” Bargiggia wrote on X.

Such an exchange would undoubtedly send shockwaves across Italian football, given the rivalry and the profiles involved.

For now, it remains a hypothesis, but it reflects a clear truth: Chivu and the Inter Milan hierarchy are already planning for the future, aware that to remain competitive across all fronts, fine-tuning the midfield is essential.

With a packed schedule, European ambitions, and domestic pressure mounting, January could mark the first real turning point of Inter Milan’s evolving project — and the midfield, as always, is the beating heart of that transformation.
