Nerazzurri defender speaks after Coppa Italia Semi-Final
Following the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, Matteo Darmian shared his thoughts after Como vs Inter Milan.
Speaking from the press conference and reported by FcInter1908, Darmian addressed the whistles aimed once again at Alessandro Bastoni.
“This topic has already been discussed a lot. It’s disappointing because Bastoni should not be judged for a single episode.
I’ve been here for six years, and he’s someone you cannot say anything negative about. He has strong values and he’s a top player. He’s showing great maturity and I don’t think he lets this affect him.”

Focus shifts to the Derby
Was the upcoming derby on the players’ minds?
“We tried not to think too much about Sunday’s match. Now we’ll have time to prepare it in the best way. We knew how important this competition is. Reaching the final and lifting the trophy would mean a lot to all of us.
We showed respect, went onto the pitch with the right determination. We wanted to win, but we knew how well Como have been doing.
It’s a good draw, and we’ll try to do our best in the second leg. Now our focus shifts to the derby.”
On whether this match differed from the first encounter, Darmian added:
“The game was definitely different. They have quality and they’re strong, as they’re proving. Their growth is clear, and their fifth place in the league shows it. We played our part too. It was important not to concede or lose tonight, and we managed that.”
Balanced words. Clear message. Eyes now locked on the next battle.
