Chivu still has selection doubts ahead of Inter Milan clash
Inter Milan will train this afternoon before coach Cristian Chivu makes his final decisions on the starting lineup for tomorrow’s Serie A clash against Atalanta at San Siro (kick-off 15:00 CET).
The match will be Inter Milan’s first since the derby defeat to AC Milan, a result that reduced the Nerazzurri’s lead in the standings to seven points.
Thuram back in attack
There is good news for Inter Milan in attack. Marcus Thuram has recovered from the flu that forced him to miss the derby and is expected to lead the line alongside Francesco Pio Esposito.
Meanwhile captain Lautaro Martinez has returned to training on the pitch and is targeting a comeback against Fiorentina, potentially alongside Hakan Calhanoglu.
Dumfries available, Bastoni unlikely
Denzel Dumfries has also recovered and is available again, although it remains unclear whether he will start from the first minute. If not, Luis Henrique is ready to take his place on the right flank.
The situation is different for Alessandro Bastoni, who suffered a blow to the tibia during the derby after fouling Adrien Rabiot.

According to Sky Sport via Fcinter1908, the defender is still experiencing pain and is unlikely to feature.
Midfield and defensive decisions
If Bastoni is unavailable, Carlos Augusto is expected to replace him in defence.
Francesco Acerbi is pushing for a starting role as central defender, which could see Manuel Akanji move to the right side of the back three.
In midfield there is also a selection battle between Petar Sucic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with the Croatian currently slightly favored.
Inter Milan will make their final tactical decisions after today’s training session as they look to return to winning ways in the title race.
