Thuram close to full form: goals, confidence and a renewed impact

After his brace in the Coppa Italia, Marcus Thuram looks very close to the best version of himself as he regains confidence and rhythm with Inter Milan

The French striker is not yet at 100% of his potential, but he is certainly very close to his best version. 

Marcus Thuram has truly returned with his usual smile, the desire to make teammates smile, and—above all—with goals. 

His brace against Venezia in the Coppa Italia arrived two and a half months after his last celebrations, which also came in the form of a double: on September 17 in Amsterdam against Ajax in the Champions League opener.

As highlighted by Sport Mediaset via Fcinter1908, the Inter Milan forward is delighted to have found the net again while delivering a performance as an offensive playmaker, crucial in giving fluidity to the team’s attacking moves. 

A decisive return: goals, movement and leadership up front

Thuram may not yet be fully at his peak, but he is getting very close. He has now reached seven goals this season: three in Serie A, two in the Champions League and two in the Coppa Italia—an impressive return considering he spent over a month sidelined, missing six matches due to a femoral biceps injury.

“Tikus” had produced the best start of his career, with five goals between Serie A and the Champions League in his first seven games, plus two assists.

At 28 years old, the former Borussia Mönchengladbach striker only needs to keep growing and attempt to surpass the scoring tallies from his first two seasons with Inter Milan: 15 goals in the first year and 18 in the second. The challenge began again with his performance against Venezia in the Coppa Italia.
