With heavy rotation in the Coppa Italia, Inter Milan deliver a strong performance and a convincing 5–1 win, earning full praise from coach Cristian Chivu

Cristian Chivu received excellent answers from his squad as he opted for major rotation in the Coppa Italia clash against Venezia, and his Inter Milan side produced both a strong performance and a big victory. After the 5–1 win, the coach spoke to Mediaset via Fcinter1908 about the team’s display.

Chivu on mentality, young players, and Frattesi’s role

“If the players are angry about the goal we conceded, I’m happy. I’m pleased with the attitude, the respect shown to the opponent, the mentality.

This is a motivated group that wants to maintain continuity with what we’ve done in recent months. I’m happy for those who played at San Siro for the first time, the U23 boys, and I’m happy for Diouf. I saw many good things and I’m pleased for them.”

Chivu also highlighted the integration of young players within the squad:
“For young players, it’s never easy to be accepted in a new group, but those who have been here for many years welcomed them well, and they adapted quickly.

The growth process continues because we can still improve. We’re aware of our path, of what we want, and of the work needed. We must know how to manage moments, even when things go wrong.”

He then discussed Davide Frattesi and his involvement:
“Frattesi? He got the minutes he probably deserved. Maybe he deserved a bit more. He had a procedure and some issues that we never communicated.

Despite that, he always made himself available. Today was his turn—he needed to put some fuel in his legs, and he did quite well.

We know what he can give us. I’ve made different choices in the past, but I know I can count on a player who is decisive for us.”
