“Lautaro? It’s the result of the hard work he does for the team. If you’re a leader and a driving force, goals will eventually come. He must be aware of the effort and heart he gives to the team.

 He leads by example — I’m happy to coach him. Tonight I liked our approach, knowing we were facing a well-coached team that could have caused us problems at any moment. We played a good match. I care a lot about the group — they all work hard to improve. 

It’s never easy because changes can sometimes disrupt balance, but I’m satisfied with what they’re doing: they’ve adapted quickly and are performing well, aware that they still have room to grow.”

Chivu praises Lautaro and Inter Milan’s mentality amid tight schedule

“It’s not easy to keep this attitude when you play every three days. Credit goes to those who always contribute in the rotation, allowing others to get a bit more rest. Today was our 7th match in 18–19 days — it wasn’t easy, but I’m working with champions who, despite fatigue, always do everything to meet the coach’s demands. The derby? Tonight I’ll enjoy time with my family, watch some NFL games, then rest and train those who will stay at Appiano. 

Those going on international duty will return at the last moment, and we’ll have two days to prepare.”
