Muscle issue could sideline Hakan Calhanoglu for key fixtures

Hakan Calhanoglu was absent from the starting lineup against Torino FC, and the explanation from coach Cristian Chivu was brief but telling: “He wasn’t well.”

The Turkish midfielder had been instrumental just days earlier, carrying Inter Milan to the Coppa Italia final with a dazzling performance that included a brace and an assist for the decisive goal scored by Petar Sucic in the 3–2 win. His sudden absence, therefore, did not go unnoticed.

Recovery race begins as final looms

According to reports, the issue troubling Calhanoglu is muscular and potentially more serious than initially suggested. 

This raises concerns not only for upcoming league matches but also for the Coppa Italia final against SS Lazio.

At this stage of the season, every piece matters, and losing a player of his influence would feel like removing the orchestra’s conductor just before the grand finale. 

Inter Milan now face a delicate balancing act: rushing him back could risk further damage, but waiting too long might mean missing their rhythm at the most critical moment.
