Thrown straight into the starting XI against Juventus, Nicolò Barella’s night ended earlier than expected.
The Inter Milan midfielder was shown a yellow card and substituted before the 60th minute, a decision he clearly did not appreciate.
According to DAZN via Fcinter1908’s pitchside reporter, Barella returned to the bench visibly frustrated, tossing his shin guards aside in disappointment.
Having only recently recovered from injury and made his first start after several weeks out, the substitution added to an already tense evening.
Double setback for Inter Milan as both Barella and Calhanoglu pick up bookings that rule them out of the upcoming league trip to Lecce

The booking carries further consequences. Barella was one caution away from suspension and will now miss Inter Milan’s next Serie A match, away at Lecce on Saturday, February 21.
Replacing him was Hakan Calhanoglu, himself returning from injury. The Turkish midfielder also received a yellow card and, being on a warning, will likewise be suspended for the clash against the Giallorossi.
For Inter Milan, the Derby d’Italia leaves a double midfield absence to manage, with Cristian Chivu forced to reshuffle for the upcoming trip south.
