Calhanoglu rejects Fenerbahçe, stays at Inter Milan after u-turn
Despite rumors of a move to Fenerbahçe, Calhanoglu has confirmed his intention to remain at Inter Milan, putting an end to transfer speculation

Despite rumors of a move to Fenerbahçe, Hakan Calhanoglu has confirmed his intention to remain at Inter Milan, putting an end to transfer speculation
In his home country, the midfielder is highly regarded, and two major clubs reportedly made inquiries with his agent, but no official offer ever reached Inter Milan.
Hakan Calhanoglu's agent, Stipic-Wipfler, stated that he never had any contact with Fenerbahçe and confirmed that the midfielder will remain at Inter Milan.
This denial caused quite a stir, especially after reports claimed the player had accepted an offer from the Istanbul club.

According to sources in Turkey, Fenerbahçe president Ali Koç is said to have had a direct conversation with Calhanoglu, during which the player allegedly responded positively: “I’ll come to Fenerbahçe.” At that point, the club’s management reportedly began working to finalize the deal.
As reported by Sözcü via Fcinter1908, some Fenerbahçe executives allegedly met with the player’s agent in Bodrum and reached a verbal agreement for a €12 million (£10.1M) transfer.
Fan pressure and Galatasaray allegiance led to Calhanoglu's decision
However, Calhanoglu’s previous public statements expressing his sympathy for Galatasaray, along with intense backlash from Galatasaray supporters on social media, apparently led the player to reconsider and withdraw from the move to the team now coached by José Mourinho.
Following this turn of events, Fenerbahçe — which had yet to present an official offer to Inter Milan, as repeatedly confirmed by Inter Milan executives — decided to suspend all activity and await further developments.
Meanwhile, the player has joined Inter Milan’s pre-season training camp and made it clear that he has returned to Milan to stay.
