Inter Milan attack likely reshuffled as Chivu keeps faith with central midfield

Inter Milan know the upcoming clash against Pisa is crucial. With Napoli facing Juventus and AC Milan visiting AS Roma, this round could provide a strategic advantage for the Nerazzurri—but underestimating Pisa is not an option.

Coach Cristian Chivu has already hinted at adjustments in his lineup, particularly in attack. 

Sources indicate that Pio Esposito is expected to start alongside Lautaro Martinez, with Thuram initially on the bench.

Defensive and midfield adjustments

Between the sticks, Yann Sommer will once again feature as first-choice goalkeeper, maintaining his usual consistency. 

At the back, Chivu could introduce a couple of tweaks: Bisseck is likely to return to the lineup alongside Akanji, who is competing with De Vrij for a central role. 

On the left, Bastoni might take a rest, opening the door for Carlos Augusto to step in. Dimarco remains a strong option for full-back duties, although rotation there is also possible, which could push Bastoni back onto the field in a slightly advanced position with Carlos Augusto ahead of him.

In midfield, Sucic is confirmed following his stunning goal against Arsenal, and Mkhitaryan also has a guaranteed spot. 

The central pairing is likely to feature either Zielinski or Barella, with one of the two resting. On the right, Luis Henrique is expected to start again, maintaining continuity on that flank.

Attack to feature Esposito and Lautaro

Up front, Inter Milan are expected to refresh the attack to balance freshness and impact. The combination of Esposito and Lautaro offers speed, creativity, and goal threat, while Thuram and Bonny await their chance on the bench to provide options later in the match.

With Chivu’s rotations, Inter Milan aim to remain competitive in Serie A, keeping key players fit while testing new combinations ahead of the demanding second half of the season.
