Turkish interest resurfaces while Inter Milan midfield reshuffle looms

Inter Milan remain focused on the present, but planning for the future is already underway. 

Transfer whispers from Turkey surrounding Hakan Çalhanoğlu are growing louder, though he is not the only midfielder whose situation could evolve this summer.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport via Fcinter1908, Çalhanoğlu, troubled by recurring physical issues and already targeted last summer by Galatasaray, is now just one year away from contract expiry. A return to the market is possible, with the idea of a move to Istanbul still alive.

Okan Buruk, Galatasaray’s head coach, has reportedly maintained frequent contact and is waiting for him. 

It appears highly unlikely that Inter Milan will offer a renewal. Should no suitable transfer opportunity arise for all parties, Çalhanoğlu could remain for one final season before leaving Italy on his own terms.

Meanwhile, Petar Sučić and Piotr Zieliński are not expected to move.

Frattesi, Barella and Dumfries also in the balance

Outgoings may include Diouf, potentially on loan to gain experience, and Davide Frattesi, described as perpetually uncertain about his role.

Even Nicolò Barella is not untouchable. Amid a difficult spell, the Italian midfielder could be sold if the right offer arrives.

As for Denzel Dumfries, who attracted interest from Liverpool in January, much will depend on him. 

His €25 million (£21.5 million approx.) release clause represents a button that can be pressed at the right moment.

Finally, Inter Milan are waiting to see whether admirers will step forward for Luis Henrique.

The midfield, once considered untouchable, now looks like a chessboard mid-game. And summer is approaching fast.
