Federico Dimarco, during his interview with Gianluca Gazzoli, also spoke about his relationship with Antonio Conte.

It was Dimarco himself who asked Conte for a transfer.
"At Sion I wanted to quit, but who made me suffer like that. In the end my goal was just to make people who didn't believe in me believe again, in the end I succeeded by going my own way.

Dimarco during his interview with Gianluca Gazzoli, also spoke about his relationship with Antonio Conte.

After Parma I went back to Inter Milan, with Conte as a coach. I had made myself known but it wasn't Parma that gave me the turning point.

After a couple of training sessions Conte told me he wanted me to stay and I was all giddy, I was blown away.

In the end I did six months but in January I had to beg him to leave, he wouldn't let me leave but Young and Moses had arrived and from there I went to Verona.

I wanted to play more. It was good to be at Inter Milan but I didn't feel ready or comfortable, I felt the level was high for me.

I asked to be transferred on loan and spent a year and a half at Verona. There the coach gave me the chance to express my qualities.

They gave me confidence and I went there because of my personal choice. But when I have made decisions I have always done it alone, no one has ever advised me.
I was convinced that with that coach and that way of playing I could turn things around and even if with great difficulty I was right. I had a really good time in Verona. Then there was Covid in the way but it's a city that has given me so much. I'm sorry to have played with an empty stadium, they have a good supporters".
