Cristian Chivu stood on the touchline like a conductor after a storm, watching his Inter Milan orchestra turn chaos into harmony.

Following the thrilling comeback win against Como in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg, the Nerazzurri coach praised his squad’s mentality and hunger. 

Speaking to SportMediaset via Fcinter1908, Chivu highlighted the strength of the group:

“There is a team that has been working well since the start of the season. The players who came on made a huge impact, they understood the moment and showed personality and courage. Both Diouf and Sucic were decisive.”

Chivu emphasized that this Inter Milan side has earned the right to fight on multiple fronts:

“This group has an incredible desire to be competitive everywhere. We’ve put ourselves in a position where we can dream about the league title and the Coppa Italia.”

Facing a well-organized Como side, he was particularly impressed by his team’s ability to break through:

“We knew their level, one of the best defenses around. But we managed to score many goals against them. 

These players have pride and the Inter Milan DNA. Coming back twice in ten days against Como… only this team can do that.”

Injuries and identity

Chivu also provided an update on Denzel Dumfries:

“He still has a physical issue. He made himself available for the final minutes, but he’s dealing with a tendon problem.”

The coach then turned to the broader identity of his squad, praising their awareness and responsibility:

“I like having a group that understands moments. These players feel the responsibility of the club and want to carry the work forward. 

Luis Henrique played with courage and personality, and we caused them problems.”

When asked about comparisons with José Mourinho, Chivu brushed them aside with quiet clarity:
