Pio Esposito dreams of his first San Siro goal in the Derby

After shining with Italy, the young Italian striker aims to score for Inter Milan at home
The 2005-born forward, after scoring with the National Team, is eager to repeat himself with the Inter Milan shirt.
Two matches with the National Team, two goals. Pio Esposito has been one of the very few positive notes—if not the only one—of Italy under coach Gattuso, once again proving he is a pure talent.
After scoring against Moldova, he had predicted it well: “A goal at San Siro? That would be really nice, also because I still haven’t scored yet with Inter Milan.
Maybe it’ll happen with the National Team first.” The next step is now clear: to do it again with the Inter Milan shirt in what is, and is destined to be, his home stadium.
Brought back after his two-year spell at Spezia, Esposito has already repaid Inter Milan’s trust by scoring 3 goals: first at the Club World Cup, then in the league, and finally in the Champions League.

All these goals, however, came away from San Siro: in the United States against River Plate, in Cagliari, and finally in Brussels against Union Saint-Gilloise.
He still hasn’t celebrated in front of his own fans: not an obsession, surely, but a thought that has been on his mind for a while. Something that is expected to arrive soon, and that everyone—from Chivu to his teammates, from the club to the fans—is eager to celebrate.
Pio Esposito seeks his first San Siro celebration in the Milan derby
And who knows, the chance might come on Sunday evening, on a truly special occasion: the Milan derby.
Esposito has already faced Milan several times in the youth sector, and he’s ready to experience his first senior derby. Inter Milan will most likely take the field with the Lautaro–Thuram duo, but the young striker is ready to seize every opportunity, even off the bench.
Scoring his first goal at San Siro in his first derby would give him that “predestined” status he has already been labeled with—a heavy burden for a 20-year-old, but one that Pio has shown he can carry. A dream for now, but one that might just become reality.
