Sold-out Derby d’Italia to become second-highest grossing match in Serie A history

There is enormous anticipation surrounding Saturday night’s Derby d’Italia between Inter Milan and Juventus, but history has already been written before kickoff.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via Fcinter1908, Inter Milan vs Juventus will not only be another sell-out at San Siro, it is also set to become the second-highest grossing match in Serie A history, behind only the reverse derby fixture earlier this season.

The Nerazzurri continue to dominate off the pitch as well: this will mark the sixth consecutive revenue record for the club over the past two seasons. Inter Milan now occupy the top six spots in Serie A’s all-time matchday revenue rankings.

Inter Milan news: Calhanoglu and Barella push to start

While the stands are guaranteed to be full, attention now shifts to Cristian Chivu’s final selection decisions.

According to Sky Sport, both Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolò Barella have made significant progress in training and are eager to start.

The Inter Milan coach will make his final decision in the coming hours, but both midfielders are available.

Up front, the expected pairing is once again Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram. The French striker appears ahead of Pio Esposito in the race to partner the captain, pointing toward the return of the “ThuLa” partnership from the first minute.

Saturday at 20:45 CET, San Siro will be full, the lights will be bright, and the stage will be set for another chapter in one of football’s most storied rivalries.
