The finish line is now clearly in sight.
With a commanding 3-0 victory over Cagliari at San Siro, Inter Milan have taken another decisive step toward their 21st league title.
After the match, Cristian Chivu shared his thoughts with Sky Sport via Fcinter1908, mixing satisfaction with a dose of realism.
Chivu: “We raised the intensity”
“Champions League qualification achieved? Not really,” Chivu joked. “We’re happy, of course. We knew how important this match was.
In the first half we struggled with ball circulation, which allowed them to stay well organized. In the second half we increased the intensity, both in passing and in our runs.
Once we scored, this team relaxed and started to enjoy itself.”
The shift after the break proved decisive, turning a potentially tricky game into a controlled and confident win.
Focus still on improvement
Chivu also spoke about the mentality of his squad:
“The players? They all have their heads down looking at their phones, it’s just how this generation is,” he said with a smile.
“We know everything good we’ve done. With five games to go, we’ve secured Champions League football, and now we look ahead to stay competitive.”

Despite the strong domestic run, the coach is already thinking about the bigger stage.
Eyes on Europe and the future
“How far are we from being competitive in the Champions League? These players have put last season behind them, and it wasn’t easy. They’ve always reacted and worked to maintain what they built.
In Europe it’s never simple. You face top-level opponents who keep strengthening with huge investments. We want to compete there as well and stay sharp.”
On his own future, Chivu remained calm and focused:
“I haven’t discussed a contract renewal with the club yet. I’ve been focused on achieving our objectives. There will be time to talk about that. The season is still long. I prefer to focus on the pitch.”
One step at a time, one win at a time.
Inter Milan are edging closer to glory, but under Chivu, the mindset remains clear: no distractions, no shortcuts, just the next challenge ahead.
