For this reason, the Turkish club is searching for a new goalkeeper, and among the names circulating in recent weeks was also Yann Sommer.

“Considering the €75 million (£63 million) to be paid to Napoli, the club decided to focus on players with a lower cost,” wrote Fanatik via Fcinter1908, as Galatasaray appears willing to invest a significant sum (€70–75 million / £59–63 million) for Osimhen from Napoli.

The long list of candidates has been reduced to three names: besides Ter Stegen, who is expected to leave Barcelona, Galatasaray is also targeting 36-year-old Yann Sommer and Mike Maignan from AC Milan.

All three goalkeepers have just one year left on their contracts, and “it is well known that the clubs will be open to negotiating a reasonable transfer fee,” Fanatik further explains.

The Galatasaray board has made significant progress in negotiations with both Sommer and Ter Stegen.

Maignan to decide this week, Milan may offer discount

Galatasaray is still awaiting a final response from Maignan, who has not yet agreed to the move but is expected to make a decision this week.

AC Milan may also agree to a favorable price, especially since Galatasaray allowed the early termination of Álvaro Morata's loan, enabling his move to Como — a gesture that suited the Rossoneri's needs.
