Inter Milan lifted the Coppa Italia after defeating Lazio at the Olimpico, sealing a memorable domestic double under Cristian Chivu

Inter Milan’s dream season continues.

After conquering Serie A, the Nerazzurri defeated Lazio 2-0 at the Olimpico to lift the Coppa Italia and complete a historic domestic double under Cristian Chivu.

Among the stars of the night was Denzel Dumfries, named Man of the Match after another dominant performance on the right flank.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset after the final whistle, the Dutch wing-back expressed both relief and joy following a difficult period earlier in the season.

“I’m happy,” Dumfries said. “I came back after a difficult moment. I’m happy for the victory and for the assist to Lautaro who kept complaining about not getting enough assists for his goals,” he joked with a smile.

Asked to rate coach Cristian Chivu, Dumfries responded instantly: “Ten.”

Captain Lautaro Martinez once again proved decisive, leading the attack and lifting yet another trophy in Nerazzurri colors.

Speaking after the victory, the Argentine striker reflected on the significance of Inter Milan’s achievement.

“The double means so much,” Lautaro explained. “It wasn’t easy to restart after what happened last year.

We’ve had a truly important season in terms of results, football quality, intensity, and performances.”

Despite the celebrations, the captain reminded everyone that the season is not yet fully complete.

“There are still two matches left, but for now we’ve won another trophy that means a lot to us.”

Lautaro also addressed the constant scrutiny surrounding Inter Milan.

“There is always so much talk about Inter Milan because of what we’ve been doing over these years. We have to continue on our path and keep bringing trophies to the club.”

And like Dumfries, Lautaro reserved special praise for Cristian Chivu.

“I give Chivu a ten as well. He gave us enormous help.”

At the Olimpico, Inter Milan did more than win a cup. It crowned a season that now echoes louder and louder through the club’s modern history.
