January looks quiet, but summer plans remain open

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the idea of Ivan Perisic returning to Milan is not completely off the table.

While the January transfer window appears unlikely to bring reinforcements, the Nerazzurri continue to reflect on potential moves for the future, especially looking ahead to the summer.

Before the Champions League clash between Inter Milan and Arsenal, CEO Beppe Marotta made the club’s current stance clear:

“This is a poor market. There are no real opportunities to significantly raise the quality of the squad. Ausilio and Baccin are constantly monitoring situations, but there is no obligation to intervene.”

Marotta also underlined that Denzel Dumfries is recovering and pushing to return as soon as possible, a factor that reduces the urgency for immediate action.

Is Luis Henrique enough in Dumfries’ absence?

Despite Marotta’s words, questions persist around Inter Milan’s right flank. Dumfries is still weeks away from full fitness, leaving Luis Henrique as the primary option.

The Brazilian has delivered mixed performances and struggled notably against Arsenal, where his positioning contributed to the opening goal scored by the Gunners.

This has reignited debate among fans and pundits alike: will Inter Milan  really stand pat, or could a late-market opportunity still emerge?

Perisic: doors closed for January, not for summer

La Gazzetta dello Sport via Fcinter1908 sheds light on the club’s thinking:

After missing out on João Cancelo, who ultimately joined Barcelona, Inter Milan have explored several profiles.

For June, Belghali of Verona is being monitored, though a January move is impossible as he has already featured for two clubs this season.

Closer to the present, the name of Ivan Perisic continues to circulate. The Croatian winger, who turns 37 on February 2, is a regular starter at PSV and is enjoying an excellent campaign with five goals and ten assists.

The Dutch club have firmly shut the door on a winter exit, but late-window scenarios can always shift unexpectedly.

At Inter Milan, Perisic’s legacy remains strong: 55 goals in 254 appearances, trophies, decisive performances, and a deep bond with the club.

For now, Inter Milan are watching, waiting, and evaluating. January may pass quietly, but when it comes to Perisic, the story may simply be postponed rather than closed.
