The Inter Milan wing-back unlocks the match against Parma and speaks after the final whistle

A performance full of energy, endless running and the usual refined technique. Federico Dimarco was one of Inter Milan’s standout players in the hard-fought win away at Parma.

The wing-back scored the goal that broke the deadlock and set the Nerazzurri on their way to three crucial points at the Tardini.

With this strike, Dimarco reached his 18th Serie A goal since his permanent return to Inter Milan in the summer of 2021, a remarkable figure for a defender.

It is a record he currently shares with teammates Denzel Dumfries and Theo Hernandez. This season alone, Dimarco has now scored three league goals, which combined with his five assists make him the defender with the most goal contributions across the top five European leagues.

Curiously, the goal against Parma came with his right foot, just as it did last season when Inter Milan faced the Gialloblù at San Siro. A rare but decisive detail, once again underlining Dimarco’s growing influence in the final third.

After being awarded Man of the Match, Dimarco spoke in the post-match interviews about the performance, the team spirit and Inter Milan’s ambitions:

“Like in many matches, we created a huge number of chances that we sometimes fail to convert due to bad luck or other factors.

Today the most important thing was to win, and we did that. Now we immediately turn our focus to Sunday.

This team has achieved so much in recent years. Could we have won more? Yes.

But after a final like the one we played last year, the group came back together strongly with the coach, and now the true value of this squad is coming out.

We are united, everyone runs for each other, we help one another, and when we celebrate, we all celebrate together.

Defender with the most goal contributions in the top five European leagues? Hopefully we can keep going like this!”

Federico Dimarco, once again, delivered when it mattered most.
