Bonny and Thuram lead Inter Milan past Venezia in dominant Coppa Italia win

Inter Milan swept Venezia 5–1 in the Coppa Italia Round of 16, with Bonny returning to both the pitch and the scoresheet and Thuram outlining the team’s ambitions

It was a return to the pitch and a return to scoring for Bonny, as Inter Milan earned a commanding 5–1 victory over Venezia in the Coppa Italia Round of 16. 

Speaking to Mediaset via Fcinter1908 after the match, the French forward expressed his satisfaction with both the performance and the result:

“It was great work from the whole team. I’m happy with the win and with my goal. Diouf? We’re happy for him because he didn’t have an easy start, and now he’s showing everyone his true value.”

Following Bonny’s comments, Marcus Thuram also spoke to Mediaset about Inter Milan’s strong showing and the team’s mindset moving forward.

Asked whether the Coppa Italia is a concrete objective, Thuram responded:
“Is the Coppa Italia an objective? We play all competitions to go as far as possible. Then we’ll see.”

Thuram praised the group’s approach and focus:
“Beyond the goal, what matters is our attitude. We played a serious match, even though we conceded once.”

He closed by emphasizing the depth and collective strength of the squad:
“We’re a strong group. We have 23–24 high-level players, and that’s also good for the young guys who join the first team. They can be important.”
