Despite Inter Milan’s will to continue with Simone Inzaghi, the coach asks for clear plans and reinforcements before committing to a long-term renewal

Inter Milan’s ambition is to continue the successful journey with Simone Inzaghi at the helm, but the coach himself is requesting solid guarantees regarding the club’s future.

According to Il Giorno via Fcinter1908.it, Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta is working behind the scenes to ensure that the project convinces Inzaghi to stay and extend his contract.

Two critical dates are marked in the Nerazzurri calendar. The first is a high-profile final on Saturday, May 31, against PSG — the culmination of a cycle and a defining moment for this Inter Milan team.

The second, set for Tuesday, June 3, may be less public but just as decisive: a pivotal meeting between Marotta and Inzaghi that could shape the next few years of the club’s strategy.

Inzaghi eyes contract extension and competitive squad

It’s clear that a strategic game is at play. On one side is a coach who could demand a multi-million euro contract extension until 2028.

On the other is a management team aware that only a competitive roster can meet the demands of a season split between Serie A, the Champions League, and the upcoming Club World Cup.

Inzaghi’s requests are not out of place — especially if he ends the season as a Champions League winner.

The expectations are for Inter Milan to bolster their squad significantly. Names like Ange Yoan Bonny, the young forward from Parma, may not be enough to convince Simone Inzaghi that the club is aiming high.

Beppe Marotta is prepared to make a substantial move in the market, with a possible €40 million (£33.7 million) investment solely in attack.

One of the confirmed additions is Luis Henrique, the Brazilian winger from Marseille, who has signed a five-year deal and is expected to join in time for the Club World Cup. His arrival strengthens the right flank, bringing it to par with the already solid left side.

Inter Milan is facing a double match: one on the pitch, the other at the negotiation table. Winning both could define a new era — with Inzaghi still leading the charge.
