After a standout season with Marseille, Luis Henrique’s move to Inter Milan has turned into a disappointment, with limited minutes and uncertain future

After a highly positive season with Olympique Marseille (7 goals and 8 assists in Ligue 1), Luis Henrique joined Inter Milan last summer.

Signed even before Chivu’s arrival, he also took part in the Club World Cup. The Brazilian saw Inter Milan as a golden opportunity to relaunch his career — and the Nerazzurri were willing to invest €23 million (£19.6 million) to secure him.

After a standout season with Marseille, Luis Henrique’s move to Inter Milan has turned into a disappointment, with limited minutes and uncertain future.

But away from Marseille, things haven’t gone as hoped. After being used immediately upon arrival, during the Club World Cup in the United States (3 appearances for a total of 154 minutes), Luis Henrique faced far more difficulties once Serie A resumed. He has collected only 211 minutes of play (with two starts) and just 13 minutes in the Champions League, failing to make an impact.

Cristian Chivu appears increasingly unconvinced, having even tried Carlos Augusto on the right instead of the former Marseille man.

Inter Milan already looking to offload a costly summer flop

Luis Henrique’s entourage is already looking for a new destination for January. According to Footmercato via Fcinter1908, this evaluation “is shared within the club, which now seems ready to part ways with what increasingly looks like a costly summer flop.”

The player’s agents have already offered him to several Ligue 1 clubs — including AS Monaco, Olympique Marseille, and Olympique Lyon — but none have shown concrete interest so far.

The winter transfer window is still some time away, but a new suitor might emerge. For now, Luis Henrique’s Inter Milan future appears highly uncertain.
