Facts, figures and stats for the Nerazzurri's last Serie A game of the season

Today at 20:45 CEST, Inter Milan will conclude their 2024/25 Serie A campaign away at Como.

It will be the Nerazzurri’s 38th and final match of the domestic season, and they head into the game sitting in second place on 78 points—just one behind Napoli—with the league’s best attacking record at 77 goals.

The reverse fixture at San Siro saw Inter Milan triumph 2-0 thanks to goals from Carlos Augusto and Marcus Thuram. Now, Inzaghi’s side will look to end their impressive league run on a high note at the Sinigaglia Stadium.

Fixture history: Inter Milan’s upper hand

Inter Milan and Como have met 27 times in Serie A, with the Nerazzurri claiming 18 wins to Como’s six, and just three draws.

Inter Milan have dominated the fixture in recent years, winning the last eight meetings while conceding only twice.

Away from home, Inter Milan have scored in each of their last four visits to Como—a streak they’ll hope to extend.

Statistical excellence: set pieces, headers, and dribbling

Inter Milan’s 2024/25 season has been underpinned by tactical sharpness and individual brilliance.

They have scored 25 goals from set pieces—more than any other team in Europe’s top five leagues.

They also lead Serie A in duel success rate (53.2%), reflecting their physical edge and organisation.

Across all competitions, Inter Milan have scored 112 goals, their second-best tally ever, just one behind the 2019/20 season (113).

In the air, they’ve been unmatched, with 15 headed goals, again the best record in Europe’s elite leagues.

Their attacking penetration is equally impressive: 11 goals have come from dribbling moves inside the opposition box, a stat bettered only by Barcelona (15) and Marseille (12).

Key players: Bastoni, Dumfries, and Thuram

Alessandro Bastoni has quietly led from the back. He leads Serie A with 204 ball drives between 5–10 metres, and is among the top four defenders in total touches (2507).

Denzel Dumfries has delivered his best season to date: 11 goals and 5 assists across all competitions. He’s the most prolific defender since Robin Gosens’ 12-goal season in 2020/21.

Marcus Thuram, affectionately nicknamed "Tikus", has scored 14 goals in 32 league appearances—all from inside the box.

No player in Serie A with 100% of goals scored from within the area has done better. With one more goal, he could become the first Frenchman to hit 15 goals in a single Serie A season for Inter Milan, surpassing Youri Djorkaeff’s 14 in 1996/97.

Carlos Augusto and the Como threat

Carlos Augusto, who scored in the reverse fixture, has matched his away goal tally from last season (2), showing he remains a threat from deep. Inter Milan will rely on his energy and attacking contributions once again.

As for the hosts, Como, under the guidance of Cesc Fàbregas, have secured an impressive 10th-place finish with 49 points.

Unbeaten in their last five and with recent wins over Lecce, Genoa, Parma, and Cagliari, they are finishing the season in strong form. Their top scorer is Diao with 8 goals, and their likely formation is a 4-2-3-1, with a mix of youth and experience across the pitch.

With second place still on the line and attacking milestones within reach, Inter Milan have every reason to end the season with purpose.

Whether it’s a final flourish from Thuram or another dominant display from Inzaghi’s well-drilled side, the Nerazzurri will look to wrap up 2024/25 with a statement.
