Inter Milan’s record start: Chivu’s attack outshines Inzaghi’s era

Not since the Ronaldo days has Inter Milan scored at such a pace — and this time, the goals come from everywhere
Such a start in attack hasn’t been seen in almost thirty years. Inter Milan, now led by Cristian Chivu, are outperforming even the best versions of Simone Inzaghi’s side — at least so far.
After a cautious beginning, the team has shifted into top gear, returning to the high standards of recent seasons — and even surpassing them.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via Fcinter1908, the Nerazzurri are posting extraordinary offensive numbers:
“Inter Milan are Serie A’s best team in nearly every attacking category. They’ve scored the most in the first half (8), the most in the second half (9), the most from headers (5), the most from open play (13), and the most from corners (4). Inter Milan simply score more — because no one has Chivu’s arsenal of strikers.”

With 17 league goals, five more than Napoli, Inter Milan lead the league’s scoring charts — a statement of dominance and intent.
Adding five more goals in Europe (two at Ajax, three against Slavia Prague), their total of 22 goals surpasses even Inzaghi’s most prolific season (20 in 2021–22).
Not since 1997–98, when Ronaldo reigned supreme, has Inter Milan reached such heights.
A balanced and democratic attack
Back then, it was all about Ronaldo. Now, Chivu’s Inter Milan thrives on attacking democracy. While Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram remain the main strike duo — the “ThuLa” partnership — the young attackers behind them are earning their chances and contributing with goals of their own.
In fact, all four backup forwards have already found the net — something that wasn’t guaranteed.
The only match where none of the strikers scored was Inter Milan–Sassuolo (2–1), decided by Federico Dimarco and an own goal from Bosnian defender Muharemovic, a talent Inter Milan’s scouts continue to monitor closely.
Given the squad’s youthful energy and depth, Thuram’s current injury is far less worrying — there’s confidence in the replacements available.
Meanwhile, from Saudi Arabia, Simone Inzaghi may look back with nostalgia at a time when his bench options were Arnautovic, Taremi, and Correa — a far cry from the vibrant, multi-faceted attack now at Chivu’s disposal.
